7. Towing & Vehicle Responsibility
It is the owner's responsibility at all times to ensure the tow vehicle used is legally compliant and suitably capable for the product being towed. SUV Caravans is not responsible for the tow vehicle or any issues arising from it. This includes ensuring:
- The vehicle has the appropriate legal towing capacity for the caravan or camper trailer
- A properly functioning electric brake controller is fitted and correctly adjusted
- Correct weight distribution and hitch/towbar heights are used for safe travel
- Wheel nuts are torqued to the correct specification before every trip
Failure to use a suitable tow vehicle or correctly configured braking system may lead to unsafe towing conditions, damage to the product, and will void warranty. SUV Caravans accepts no liability for accidents, damage, injury, or death resulting from improper towing practices.
8. Cyclone & Severe Weather
SUV Caravans and Camper Trailers are not cyclone rated. In the event of a natural disaster, cyclone, or severe weather event approaching or occurring, owners must seek appropriate shelter elsewhere. SUV Caravans accepts no liability for damage caused by cyclones, flooding, hail, or other severe weather events. It is the owner's responsibility to store their caravan or camper trailer appropriately and to maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
9. Insurance Recommendation
Our warranty is not an insurance policy. We strongly recommend that all purchasers take out a suitable insurance policy to protect their investment against:
- Accidents and collision damage
- Weather events including storms, flooding, and hail
- Theft and malicious damage
- Damage caused by road conditions
Please note that all insurance assessments and quotes arranged through SUV Caravans will incur an administration fee of $395. Please consult your nearest SUV Caravans dealership or your insurance agent for recommendations on suitable caravan and camper trailer insurance.
10. Servicing & Personal Property
When a caravan or camper trailer is delivered to an SUV Caravans Dealership or Authorised Service Agent for servicing, repairs, or warranty work:
- All personal property and goods must be removed prior to drop-off. No responsibility is accepted for personal property or goods left inside the unit.
- If removal of personal property is required by our team, the cost of doing so will be charged to the customer at current labour rates.
- SUV Caravans will not be held accountable for loss or damage to the caravan or camper trailer whilst it is at the dealership or service agent. It is the owner's responsibility to maintain appropriate insurance coverage.
- All compartments and doors must be unlocked, and all padlocks removed, when delivering the unit for service or repairs.
11. Disruption During Warranty Repairs
SUV Caravans and any Authorised Repair Agent will not be liable for disrupted travel plans, accommodation costs, or other associated expenses incurred whilst repairs are carried out under an approved warranty claim. The Purchaser is responsible for all costs of transporting the caravan or camper trailer to and from the repairer, including towing fees, insurance during transport, and any travelling time.
12. Dispute Resolution
If a dispute arises, either party shall send the other a written notice of dispute with adequate details. The following process applies:
- Within 14 days of the notice, the parties must confer at least once to attempt resolution. Each party must be represented by someone with authority to agree to a resolution.
