Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about your Teletrack — warranty, towing, servicing, and purchasing.
What tow vehicle do I need?+
Your tow vehicle must be legally compliant and rated to tow at least the ATM (Aggregate Trailer Mass) of the unit. It must also be fitted with a properly functioning electric brake controller. Always verify your vehicle's tow capacity before hitching, and ensure your setup complies with Australian road laws. It is the owner's responsibility to maintain compliance at all times.
Does this unit require an electric brake controller?+
Yes. All SUV Caravans and Camper Trailers that exceed the legal threshold require an electric brake controller fitted to the tow vehicle. Your brake controller must be correctly calibrated before every trip. It is your responsibility to ensure your tow vehicle meets all legal requirements.
Can I tow this on a standard Australian driver's licence?+
In most states, a standard Australian car licence (Class C) allows you to tow a trailer within your vehicle manufacturer's rated towing capacity. If the loaded mass of your rig exceeds your licence conditions, an additional endorsement may be required. Check with your state's transport authority for specific requirements in your area.
What wheel nut torque is required?+
All wheel nuts must be torqued to 160 ft lbs. Check torque before every trip and re-check at regular intervals — particularly when travelling on rough or unsealed roads.
What speed is recommended over corrugated roads?+
We recommend limiting your speed to a maximum of 70 km/h over corrugated or rough unsealed roads. Reduce tyre pressure on both your tow vehicle and the unit for rough terrain, and stop regularly to allow shock absorbers to cool.
What warranty comes with this unit?+
All new SUV Caravans and Camper Trailers are covered by a 12-month warranty from the date of delivery, covering defects in material and workmanship under normal use. From 2025 onwards, the chassis is additionally covered by a 5-year fatigue warranty. The warranty is non-transferable and applies to the original purchaser only.
What third-party components does this unit use?+
Some components are sourced from reputable third-party brands including Truma (heating and hot water), Al-Ko (chassis and suspension), Arena (solar), Renogy (batteries and solar), Victron (power management), and AU Focus (cameras). These components are covered by their respective manufacturer warranties, separate from the SUV Caravans assembly warranty.
How much deposit is required to order?+
A minimum deposit of 10% of the total purchase price is required upon order confirmation.
Is there a cooling-off period on my deposit?+
Yes. A 7-day cooling off period applies from the date of your order. During this time you may cancel and receive a full refund of your deposit. After 7 days, refund decisions are at the sole discretion of SUV Caravans. Special or custom orders cannot be cancelled once placed.
What is the lead time if I order this model?+
Lead times vary depending on the model and current production schedule. In-stock units can generally be collected or delivered promptly after purchase completion. Build-to-order units have longer lead times that will be communicated at the time of your enquiry. Contact your nearest SUV Caravans dealership for current availability.
What services are required after purchase?+
Three preventative maintenance services are required within your 12-month warranty period: 1st service at 1,000 km or within 3 months of delivery; 2nd service at 5,000 km or within 6 months; and 3rd service at 10,000 km or within 12 months — whichever comes first in each case. Missing any service will void your warranty.
Are services included in the purchase price?+
No. Preventative maintenance services are billed separately at your dealership or authorised service agent. Service costs are not included in the purchase price of the unit.
Where can I get this unit serviced?+
All services must be performed at an authorised SUV Caravans Dealership or an Authorised Service Agent. Using an unauthorised repairer may void your warranty. Retain all service receipts as proof — they are required when lodging warranty claims.
Is this unit assembled in Australia?+
Yes. SUV Caravans and Camper Trailers are assembled in Australia using a combination of Australian-made and globally sourced components.
Do I need to season the canvas before first use?+
No. Seasoning the canvas prior to first use is not required for our camper trailers.
How do I care for the canvas?+
After any rain event, open the camper trailer as soon as it is safe to do so and allow the canvas to dry thoroughly before packing down. Storing wet canvas can lead to mould. Inspect seals and canvas regularly as part of your routine maintenance.
